WHAT IS THE PPWR?

The European Packaging and Packaging Waste Regulation (PPWR) (Regulation (EU) 2025/40) introduces new requirements within the supply chain. We are preparing for these requirements and developing transparent, practical solutions to provide our customers with reliable support in meeting packaging and compliance requirements.

The PPWR (an EU regulation on packaging and packaging waste) is a piece of European Union legislation aimed at preventing excessive packaging and strengthening the circular economy.

CLEAR LABELLING

In future, packaging must be clearly labelled and documented. The responsibilities of producers and importers must be clearly defined. Names, logos and trademarks on products may give rise to corresponding responsibilities. Therefore, the labelling must be traceable, the responsible producer must be clearly identifiable, and relevant information must be available.

OUR RESPONSIBILITY

The PPWR sets higher standards on recyclability, transparency and the provision of information throughout the supply chain. We implement these requirements by providing the necessary data and evidence, supporting the traceability of packaging and continuously adapting our processes to meet regulatory requirements. In this way, we contribute to greater transparency and a sustainable circular economy.

Our solution: QR code

In future, we will generally use a QR code that links directly to the information page on sweetvertising.de. The relevant packaging and
compliance information is made available digitally on this page. This includes, amongst other things, details of material composition, recycling instructions and further regulatory information. All content is clearly presented, accessible at any time and kept up to date on an ongoing basis. The visible labelling on the packaging is deliberately discreet and designed to be retailer-friendly.

Important information:

  • Individual retailer labelling remains in place

    If your company name, address or your customer’s details are already included on the
    product, these may remain as they are. Products on which direct manufacturer labelling has not previously been possible for technical or product-specific reasons will continue to be exempt. In such cases, suitable alternative labelling and information solutions will continue to be taken into account in future.
